We know that diagonal of square = root 2 × side of the square.

therefore, 10root 2 = root 2 × a ( a is the side of square ).

10 = root 2 × a

__________ ( cross multiplied )..

root 2

therefore, a = 10

hence side of square = 10

Given: A square has a diagonal of 10√2cm.

To find: We have to find the side of the square.

Solution:

To determine the side of the square from the diagonal we have to use the below formula-

r=√2a

Where r is the diagonal of the square which is equal to 10√2cm.

a is the side of the square.

Putting the value of the diagonal in the above formula we get-

10 \sqrt{2}  =  \sqrt{2} a \\ a = 10

The value of a is 10.

Thus, the side of the square is 10cm.
