Hi ,
**************************************************
Midpoint of the line segment :
If A( x1 , y1 ) , B( x2 , y2 ) are any two points,
then the mid point of the segment joining
AB is
( x1 + x2/2 , y1 + y2 /2 )
************************************************
According to the problem given ,
i ) A( x1 , y1 ) = ( 1 , - 1 ) ,
B( x2 , y2 ) = ( -5 , 3 ) ,
mid point of AB = ( 1 - 5/2 , -1 + 3/2 )
= ( -4/2 , 2/2 )
= ( -2 , 1 )
ii ) A( x1 , y1 ) = ( 0 , 0 ) ,
B( x2 , y2 ) = ( 0 , 4 ) ,
mid point of AB = ( 0 + 0/2 , 0 + 4 /2 )
= ( 0/2 , 4/2 )
= ( 0 , 2 )
I hope this helps you.
