Answer: x=15,Area = 150^{2} sq.uts

Step-by-step explanation:

1)Find ‘x’.

By observing the diagram, we ca say that it is right angled triangle.So w can use Pythagoras theorem...

Given Hypotenuse = 25

First side = x

Other side = x + 5

So x^{2} +(x+5)^{2}=25^{2}\\x^{2} +x^{2} +25+10x=625\\2x^{2} +10x=600\\2x^{2} +10x-600=0\\x^{2} +5x-300=0\\x^{2} +20x-15x-300=0\\x(x+20)-15(x+20)=0\\(x-15)(x+20)=0\\=> x=15

x \neq-20 because lengths can't be negative

2) Find the area of ABC

Area of triangle = \frac{1}{2} * b * h

=> \frac{1}{2} * 15 * 20   ( x + 5 = 15 + 5 = 20)

=>15 * 10 = 150^{2} sq. uts
