1. How many square metres of carpets will be required for a square room of side 6.5m to be carpeted.

\mathbb{ SOLUTION } :

Given :
side of a square room = 6.5m

Therefore,
Area of carpet to be required = (side of the square room)²

= (6.5)²

= 42.25m²

2. Find the side of a square whose area is equal to the area of the rectangle with sides 6.4m and 2.5m.

\mathbb{ SOLUTION } :

Given,

dimensions of the rectangle are 6.4m and 2.5m

Area of the rectangle = length × breadth

Area of the rectangle = 6.4 × 2.5 = 16m²

Let the side of square be 'y' m

According to the question,
Area of square = Area of rectangle

 =  >  {y}^{2}  = 16 \\  \\  =  > y =  \sqrt{16}  \\  \\   \therefore y = 4m \\  \\

Hence, the side of the square is 4m.

Here is your solution

Q-1

Given :-

side of a square room = 6.5m

To find area of square room :-

Area of carpet to be required = (side of the square room)²

= (6.5m)²

= 42.25m²

Hence

Area of carpet to be required is 42.25m²

Q-2

Given:-

Lenght of  rectangle = 6.4m

Breadth of rectangle = 2.5m

Area of the rectangle = length × breadth

Area of the rectangle = 6.4 × 2.5 = 16m²

Now

Let

The side of square be '' x''

A/q

Area of square = Area of rectangle

=>(side)^2 = 16m

=>x × x = 16 m

=>x=4m

Hence, The side of the square = x = 4m. .

uminna1111: check last a/q area of square = area of rectangle => x^2 = 16 =>x = square root of 16 => x = 4
