Answer:

Hi there mate!!!

let me help you....

see, your question is simple, but you just need to understand it...

we are given two conditions with different speed and time, but the distance is common in both. therefore the answer of your question is as follows:-

1st situation:-

speed= 5km/h = 5 × 1000m / 60 min = 1km/12 min

time=30 min

According to the formula.....

speed = distance/ time

:. 1000m/12min = distance/ 30min

shift time to left hand side

100m/12min × 30min = distance

2nd situation....

speed= 6km/h = 6000m/60min = 100m/min

time= 5min

According to the formula....

speed = distance/ time

:. 100m/min = distance/5min

shift time to left hand side

100m × 5 = distance

now because the distance is same in both situations.....

:. 1000m/12 × 30 = 100m × 5

1000m/2 × 5 = 500m

500m × 5 = 500m

2500m = 500m

shift 500m to left hand side

2500m - 500m

2000m

:. 2km

therefore the distance from house to school is 2km.
