10km/hr is Ajit's speed

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the time taken of Sanjay be x hr

Then, time taken by Ajit will be (x + 1)  hr

As we know,

Distance = Speed * Time

From the given condition,

30/x = 30/(x + 1) ...(i)

ATQ, if Ajit doubles his speed;

⇒ 30/{2 * 30/(x + 1)}

⇒ (x + 1)/2hr

Now, (x + 1)/2hr = (x - 1/2) hr

⇒ (x + 1)/2 = (2x - 1)/2

⇒ 2x + 2 = 4x - 2

⇒ 2 + 2 = 4x - 2x

⇒ 2x = 4

⇒ x = 4/2

⇒ x = 2 km/hr

∵ Sanjay takes 2 hours to cover the distance of 30 km

while Ajit takes (2 + 1) = 3 hours to cover 30 km

Speed of Ajit = distance/time = 30/3 = 10 km/hr

Speed of Sanjay = 30/2 = 15km/hr
