1. In Fig. 12.30, ABC is a triangle in which D is the
mid-point of BC and E is the mid-point of AD.
Prove that the area of A BED = - area of A ABC.

Ar of BED = Ar of AEB because on same base BC

Ar of BED+ Ar of AEB = Ar. of triangle ADC because on same base BC

So, therefore Ar. BED = Ar.ABC
