Given :- Shantanu wants to give sweets to some children. He wants to give either 10, 15 or 12 sweets to each and keep 10 for himself. What is the least number of sweets he must have ?

Answer :-

The least number of sweets will be (LCM of 10, 15 and 12) + 10 .

so, Prime factors of 10, 15 and 12 :-

→ 10 = 2 * 5

→ 15 = 3 * 5

→ 12 = 3 * 2²

then,

→ LCM = 2 * 2 * 5 * 3 = 60 .

now, since he kept 10 for himself also .

therefore,

→ the least number of sweets he must have = LCM + 10 = 60 + 10 = 70 sweets (Ans.)
