Social disparity was a major factor responsible for the French revolution.

  • Privileges: Privileges were only granted to first and second estate and was not given to the local people (third estate).
  1. Taxes: Taxes were only paid by the third estate. It was taille, tithe and a tax which was levied on daily consumables.
  2. Females were not granted many rights which were provdied to the male. For example, right to vote.
