1. What are the factors on which the resistivity of a material depends?
2. Calculate the resistivity of a material of a wire 10m long, 0.4 mm in diameter and having a resistance of 2 ohm.
3. What length of a copper wire is cross sectional area 0.01 mm² would be required to obtain a resistance oh 1 k ohm? Resistivity of copper =1.7×10 to the power -8 ohm meter.

1. Resistivity depends upon
length
area of cross section
temperature
nature of object
2. resistance =resistivity ×length /area
2=Resistivity ×10/22/35
Resistivity =44/35/10=4.4/35 ohm metre
3. 1000=1.7×10^-8×l/0.01
1000=1.7×10^-6×l
l=1000/1.7×10^-6
l=1000×10^7/17
