It is the Phenomenon shown by the plants where the gametophytic generation alternates with the sporophytic generation. The gametophytic generation is the haploid phase which is represented by the anther and ovary in higher plants. The sporophytic phase is the diploid phase. In higher plants the flowering plants represents its sporophytic generation
