1.the equation of a straight line parallel to y-axis at a distance a from it is x = a. The equation of y-axis is x = 0, since, y-axis is a parallel to itself at a distance 0 from it.

2.In plane geometry, exactly one straight line can be drawn through two distinct points. Two points are contained in one and only one line. This is a postulate of Euclid.

3.Through any point in the plane, there is at most one straight line parallel to a given straight line. This axiom is equivalent to the parallel postulate.

Answer:

i) Equation of a line parallel to y axis is

p(x)= y

ii) Only one line can draw through two distinct point ( as explained by euclid postulate)

iii) Playfair axiom is used in geometry in place of euclid 's fifth postulate

that is

Two lines are said to be parallel if they are equidistant from one other and they do not have any point of intersection.

This is what it basically means!
