Blood is a connective tissue that flows in the blood vessels - arteries and veins in our body.Their main job is to transport oxygen to the body tissues and carbon dioxide back to the lungs for diffusion. It also carries nutrients and minerals.Blood contains platelets that help in blood clotting whenever we get a cut. They also contain the pigment haemoglobin that gives the red colour to the blood and is a respiratory pigment that Carries oxygen.
