The discovery of electron was done by J.J Thomson in 1897
He discovered the electron in a discharge tube when a current of high voltage was passed through gases they conduct electricity and emit rays which travvelled from Negative to positive terminal and he found electron

1) J.J Thompson discovered the elcectron using the Cathode ray experiment. He found a negatively charged particles which he named electrons.

2) Only massless particles can travel at the speed of light. For e.g:- photons, gluons.
