When a diver dives he puts the shape of his body in such a way that he can penetrate through the water with least surface of his body entering at a time into the water. As you must have seen that first the hands of the body enters with the head and whole body following later.

this is because when you jump in water with some momentum, then the rate of change in momentum decrease because being a liquid, water offers very less resistance to the motion of any particle in it and according to the second law of motion F ∝ rate of change in momentum and so we dont face any difficulty or get hurt
