Hey
1)It is quite an emotional point in my life. Sharing myself with this diary entry would help me peep into my inner self and the fortune I have gained in the form of new life. I myself had confirmed the fact that I became a beast , which is when I turned to become a criminal. Everything was snatched away from me, my heart, my mind, my soul, my consciousness. They replaced the human within me with a devil. Even after I was set free, I had no choice but to steal else I would have died of starvation. First out of necessity and then out of will I became a thief. The Bishop's sayings and actions came as an utmost surprise to me. His words dug deep within me, bringing in an immense sense of realisation, the necessity of goodness. I found myself again. The dead spirit within me came alive. I found reasons to live life again, with a new beginning. I found the strength to resolve and renounce for all my sins and lead a happy and normal life. (to be continued with more personally felt ideas and perceptions
2)The Bishop was a kind, compassionate and forgiving person. Through these qualities, he is able to bring about a drastic change in the moral and practical life of the convict. Had the Bishop turned evil and tried to revenge the convict of stealing his candlesticks, the hatred and anger within the convict's heart would have never died. His preaching of Lord Jesus did not change the mentality of the convict much but his act of kindness and sympathy touched him deeply. When the police had caught him for stealing the candlesticks and wanted to verify with the Bishop, the latter, very calmly, denied all allegations against him and called him a friend. This saved the life of the convict and left him awestruck. Thus, this incident changed the entire course of the convict's life, making him strong and confident to lead a normal life of a normal man. Therefore we can say that the bishop was an epitome of humanism, endurance and kindness. ........ (to be continued using your own perspective)
