Area of rectangle ABCD = L × B = 12×8 = 96cm²

Area of the square APQD= side² = 8 × 8 = 64cm² ( as we know that in a square all the sides are equal)

Area of shaded region PBCQ = ar(ABCD) - ar(APQD)

= 96 - 64 = 32cm²
