100g of mercuric oxide decomposes to give 92.6 g of mercuric and 7.4 g of oxygen . let us assume that 10g of oxygen reacts conpletly with 125 g of mercury to give mercuric oxide . do these values agree the law of constant proportion ? plz its urgent

Yes, these values agree with the law of constant proportion.

Given - Mass

Find - If values agree with law of constant proportion

Solution - In first case, ratio of mercury to oxygen = 92.6:7.4

Ratio = 12.5:1

In second case, ratio of mercury to oxygen = 125:10

Ratio = 12.5:1

As the ratio remains same, the values agree with law of constant proportion.
