Dear student! According to Gay Lussac's Law of gaseous volume, when the gases react together and form a gas as the product then all of them have the simple ratio of volumes. Here, hydrogen gas and oxygen gas react together to form the steam (water molecule) so, they bear a simple ratio of 2:1:2. Also, one molecule of water contains two atoms of hydrogen and one atom of oxygen in 2:1 ratio. So, to complete the reaction, we need two molecules of hydrogen gas with one molecule of oxygen as 2H + O -> 2H O Since, mass and volume are directly proportional to the elements will follow the similar ratio when taken in volume
