1.Mahavira was the 24th and the last Tirthankara of Jainism. He was also known as Vardhamana. He was an Indian ascetic philosopher and one the principal figures of Jainism. He was born into a royal family of Kshatriyas in Kundala, which is present-day Bihar.

2.Triratna, (Sanskrit: “Three Jewels”) Pali Ti-ratana, also called Threefold Refuge, in Buddhism the Triratna comprises the Buddha, the dharma (doctrine, or teaching), and the sangha (the monastic order, or community). ... The Triratna is symbolized frequently in art as a trident.

3.Jains are divided into two major sects; the Digambara (meaning sky clad) sect and the Svetambara (meaning white clad) sect. Each of these sects is also divided into subgroups

4.The Middle Way as well as "teaching the Dharma by the middle" are common Buddhist terms used to refer to two major aspects of the Dhamma, that is, the teaching of the Buddha. The first phrasing, refers to a spiritual practice that steers clear of both extreme asceticism and sensual indulgence.

5. The people who were influenced by the new religion were the Kshatriyas who were dominated by the Brahmans (priestly class) and the varna system. Also, the Ahimsa preached by the new religions influenced the peasants who did not approve of cattle-killing as sacrifices.

6.Tripitikas are the most important literary works of the Buddhists. The word 'Tripitikas' means 'Three Baskets' of Buddhist canon. The VinayaPitaka which deals with the rules and regulations which Buddha promulgated for the monks (bhikkhus) and the nuns (bhikkunis).
