The perimeter of a rectangle is 24 cm. What
are the possible combinations of the length
and width of the rectangle, if the sides are
of integral length? Write down these
combinations. Find the area of the rectangle
for each combination. Which combination
gives you the maximum area? How much is it?

PERIMETER OF RECTANGLE IS 2*(L+B)

2(X+X)=24

2*2X=24

2X=12

X=6

2(6+6)

2*12=24

Step-by-step explanation:

Perimeter of a rectangle= 2(l+b)=24

Means (l+b)= 12

Combinations can be (1,11),(2,10), (3,9), (4,8), (5,7), (6,6).

Area of rectangle= length*breadth

Area for (1,11)= 1*11=11

Area for (2,10)=2*10=20

Area for (3,9)=3*9=27

Area for (4,8)=4*8=32

Area for (5,7)=5*7=35

Area for (6,6)=6*6=36

Here we can see that area for (6,6) combination is maximum.

So, combination (6,6) will give us maximum area.
