Answer:

Two Properties of Carbon dioxide gas are :

1) Carbon dioxide gas is more soluble in water than Oxygen

2) Carbon dioxide gas is used as a fire extinguisher

Dry ice starts off life as Carbon dioxide gas . From a gas the CO2 needs to be converted into a liquid before it get converted into a dry ice

In order to get the carbon dioxide gas as a liquid it is pressurized and refrigerated . Once it liquifies the pressure is reduced causing some of the liquid CO2 to vaporize .

Solid CO2 is called dry ice because it resembles ice but CO2 doesn't exist in liquid form . It sublimes straight from a solid to a gas . Hence called Dry ice . It sublimes at about - 78 ° c becoming an extremely cold gas

It is often used in theatres and night clubs to produce clouds

Hope it will help you

Answer:

CO2 has neither fixed volume nor a fixed shape and is hence a gas. It exerts pressure due to collision of the molecules.CO2 may be liquefied by reducing temperature or by increasing pressure.Solid CO2 gets converted directly into gaseous state without coming into liquid state and is hence called dry ice.
