Answer:

let the speed of the first cyclist be x km/hr

the speed of the second cyclist=(x+1) km/hr

let the distance travelled be y km/hr

b. t. p

x X 3.5=y....i

case 2

(x + 1) X 3=y.........ii

from I and ii

we get

(x+1) X 3=3.5x

3x + 3=3.5x

3=3.5x-3x

3=0.5x

x=3/0.5

x=6

there fore speed of the second cyclists=(6+1) km/hr

=7km/hr

speed are 6 km/hr

and7km/hr

distance =7x 3 km

=21 km
