Pleasnat taste of tap water is because it contains dissolved matter like salts , carbon dioxide and minerals. but boiled or distilled water has not minerals or salts. this it tastes flat.

Ice at 0℃ can absorb a large amount of energy compared to water at 0℃ to produce cooling effect as it can absorb the latest heat of fusion.

Rivers and lakes don't freeze because Water, ice, and snow are good insulators and poor conductors of heat
