carbon monoxide is produced due to incomplete combustion of carbon particles
it is harmful for us as when it is inhaled by us it mixes wid haemoglobin to form carboxy haemoglobin. this reduces the the capacity of haemoglobin to carry oxygen .this causes respiratory problems in humans

\bold{\tt\purple{ANSWER :}}

carbon monoxide,formed by incomplete combustion of fuels,is a major source of pollution

Harmful effects of carbon monoxide

1. carbon monoxide when inhaled,passes through the lungs into the blood.it combines with the haemoglobin (in the blood) to form complex substance known as carboxy haemoglobin.this complex is unable to transport oxygen to various parts of body. This cause suffocation and ultimately death.

2. A high concentration of carbon monoxide in air affect the growth of plants causing the leaves to drop.it is worthwhile to note here that another well known gas, carbon dioxide ,when present in excess,also causes pollution of air.
