15. The length of a rectangle is 5 cm more than the breadth. If the length is decreased by 1 cm and
breadth is increased by 2 cm, their ratio becomes 7: 6. Find the dimensions of the rectangle.

let b = x then l = x + 5

now according to question:

b = x + 2 and l = x + 5 - 1 = x + 4

now, x+4/x+2 = 7/6

so by cross multiplication

(x+4)6 = (x+2)7

6x+24 = 7x+14

6x-7x = 14-24

-x = - 1o

x = 10

dimensions: l = 10 + 5 = 15

b = 10
