18) A rectangular park is 55 m wide and 89 m long. Find cost of fencing it
at the rate of ₹ 22.50 per 100 meters.

Given :-

lenght of rectangular park = 55 m

Breadth of park = 89 m

To find:-

Cost of fencing the park at the rate of 22.50₹ at rate of 100m

Formula used :-

perimeter of ractangle = 2(l + b)

Solution:-

Perimeter of park = 2( 55 + 89)

= 2 × 144

= 288 m

Perimeter of the park is 288 m

Now we have to find the cost for fencing at the rate of 22.50 per 100m

cost of fencing at rate of 22.50 per 100m

= 288/100 × 22.50

= 2.88 × 22.50

= 64.8 ₹

hence cost of fencing the park is 64.8 ₹
