2 min. Talk on clean planet is green planet

As a citizen of the Czech Republic, I have to say that we don’t quite live up to the nickname „the heart of Europe“. If so, we should be ashamed of what we are (not) doing for the environment. Amazingly, the citizens living here really don’t mind living in such a dirty place.
What is more, the last Parliament elections have really sealed the fate of preserving our natural heritage – the Green party, which I voted for, didn’t make it to the Chamber of Deputies, so nothing will be done against polluting the country at all.
Naturally, we do sort waste and the Czech government does try to decrease the emmision level, but unfortunately, that isn’t enough. It’s like an athlete who smokes – he tries to keep fit, but he‘s not as efficient as he might be, since all the cigarettes are protecting him from doing so.
I don’t expect all the people to wear flowers on their heads and start singing „If You’re Going to San Francisco“, but I do still think it’s worth thinking about the consequences which may happen due to our behaviour. The Earth will be always doing fine, the people not, I’m afraid.
Unquestionably, the saying ‘GREEN IS CLEAN’ is considered suitable and appropriate in contemporary times. However,
The contamination from industrialization and urbanization have transformed the heaven like Earth into hell. Its forest like beauty has been superseded by factories and mill houses. The horizon that once was overshadowed by towering pines is an unpleasant sight of chimneys spreading toxic fumes.
The clean rills and rivers that were picnic places have been converted into drainage channels, conducting effluents to the river, which has become a prominent channel transmitting the waste to the sea. The whole world is succumbing its elegance and purity. The situation of our planet has now begun to look like a sick patient. Global warming has previously started transforming the whole. Climatic variations are prominent throughout. Ice is vanishing global, particularly at the Earth’s posts. This involves mountain icebergs, ice sheets comprising Greenland, West Antarctica, and Arctic sea ice.
