A and B can do a job together in 12 days. A is 2 times as efficient as B. In how many days can B alone complete the work ?


A) 36

  B) 12

C) 18

  D) 9


Correct Answer:

A) 36


Description for Correct answer:
Time taken by A to complete a work 

= x days

Time taken by B to complete the same work 

= 2x days 

According to the question, 

1x+12x=1121x+12x=112

=> 32x=11232x=112

x=3×1223×122=18

Time taken by B to complete the same work = 2x=2×182×18=36days
