Answer:

to find the value of a and b

multiply

2-root5 by 2+root5 by its conjugate

(2-root5)/(2+root 5 )*( 2-root 5)/(2-root 5) =a root5+b

=(2-root5)²/ (2²-root5²)= aroot5+b

=4+5-4root5/ 4-5=aroot5+b

9 -4root 5/-1=aroot5+b

9/-1 -4root5/-1=aroot5+b

-9 + 4root 5 = =aroot5+b

comparing b=-9 a=4
