Mission Shakti is an anti satellite weapon. It is designed to destroy the old satellites in low earth orbit. Mission Shakti was tested successfully by India on 27th March 2019 from Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Island Launch Complex. It was a great step in regard of country's safety , technological advancement and growth. India is the fourth country using the strategy after USA, Russia and China.

The satellite used was an Indian Satellite.

There is no disadvantage because debris which get produced during the blast will eventually fall on the earth with in weeks without any destruction on earth or space.
