Accordin to the question we know that

"The difference of two positive number is 74 and the quotient obtained en dividing one by other is 4

Now let the one number be X so, the other number be ( x + 72 ) ..........(1)

Now let's applying the above conditions

 \implies \sf \: 4 = \frac{(x + 72)}{x} \\ \\ \implies \sf \: 4x = x + 72 \\ \\ \implies \sf \: 4x - x = 72 \\ \\ \implies \sf \: 3x = 72 \\ \\ \implies \sf \: x \: = \frac{72}{3} \\ \\ \implies \sf \: x = 24

So the first number be x = 24

Now putting the value of x in the first equation

(x + 72 )

= 24 + 72 = 96
