Hi ,

2/x + 2/3y = 1/6 --( 1 )

3/x + 2/y = 0 ---( 2 ) are two given

simultaneous equations ,

let 1/x = a , 1/y = b

2a + 2b/3 = 1/6

( 6a + 2b )/3 = 1/6

6a + 2b = 1/2

12a + 4b = 1 -----( 3 )

3a + 2b = 0 -----( 4 )

multiply equation ( 4 ) with 2 and subtract

from ( 3 ) , we get

6a = 4

a = 4/6

a = 2/3

put a value in equation ( 4 ) , we get

3( 2/3 ) + 2b = 0

2 + 2b = 0

2b = -2

b = -1

Therefore b,

a = 2/3 ,. b = -1

1/x = 2/3 , 1/y = -1

x = 3/2 , y = -1

I hope this helps you.

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Hi ,

2/x + 2/3y = 1/6 --( 1 )

3/x + 2/y = 0 ---( 2 ) are two given

simultaneous equations ,

let 1/x = a , 1/y = b

2a + 2b/3 = 1/6

( 6a + 2b )/3 = 1/6

6a + 2b = 1/2

12a + 4b = 1 -----( 3 )

3a + 2b = 0 -----( 4 )

multiply equation ( 4 ) with 2 and subtract

from ( 3 ) , we get

6a = 4

a = 4/6

a = 2/3

put a value in equation ( 4 ) , we get

3( 2/3 ) + 2b = 0

2 + 2b = 0

2b = -2

b = -1

Therefore b,

a = 2/3 ,. b = -1

1/x = 2/3 , 1/y = -1

x = 3/2 , y = -1

I hope this helps you.
