Given that,

2/x + 3/y = 13 ...(i)

5/x - 4/y = - 2 ...(ii)

Now, multiplying (i) by 5 and (ii) by 2, we get

10/x + 15/y = 65

10/x - 8/y = - 4

On subtraction, we get

23/y = 69

or, y = 1/3

Now, putting y = 1/3 in (i), we get

2/x + 3/(1/3) = 13

or, 2/x + 9 = 13

or, 2/x = 4

or, x = 1/2

Therefore, the required solution be

x = 1/2, y = 1/3
