Writing 17 as sum of powers of 2 and 3 we get,
17 = 8 + 9;
=>17 = 2^3+3^2
On comparision we find that–
x=3 and y=2
[Answer]

AmrendraOraon: It can also be 17 = 16+1 =2^4+3^0
AmrendraOraon: So x=4 and y=0 is also a solution.

THE ANSWER IS X=4 and y=2.

working: x=3
AmrendraOraon: x=4 and y=0 is one possible answer. The other is x=3 and y=2. Here it is asumme that x, y are integers.
