 \sqrt{2} \sqrt{x} + \sqrt{9} + x = 13 \\ \sqrt{2} \sqrt{x } + 3 + x = 13 \\ \sqrt{2x} = 10 - x \\ 2x =(10 - x) ^{2} \\ 2x = 100 + {x}^{2} - 20 \\ {x}^{2} - 22x + 100 = 0
now u can solve it by using the formula

HAIMANT: in the 5th line it is not only 20.....it is 20x

Answer:

On squaring, we get

2x+9=x

2

+169−26x

⟹x

2

+160−28x=0

⟹x

2

−20x−8x+160=0

⟹(x−20)(x−8)=0

∴x=20 or x=8

But x=20 does not goes with (i)

∴x=8 is the solution of (i)
