20. A field in the shape of an equilateral triangle with side 225 m is fenced with three rounds of rope. Another field, rectangular in shape, of length 200 m and breadth 125 m is fenced with two rounds of rope. Which field requires more rope and by how much?​

Answer:

Perimeter of equilateral triangle =3×225

=675m

Three rounds of rope, therefore length of rope=3×675=2025

Perimeter of rectangular field=2(l+b)

=2(200+125)

=2×325

=650m

Two rounds of rope, therefore length of rope =2×650=1300m

Difference of length of ropes=2025-1300

=725m

Hence triangular field requires more rope by 725m
