20. In the adjoining figure, ABCD is a rectangle of
size 18 cm by 10 cm. In ∆BEC, E = 90° and
EC = 8 cm. Find the area of the shaded region​

Answer:

In rectangle ABCD,

L=18cm

B=10cm

Area of rectangle=LB

=18*10

=180cm2

In triangle CEB

cb2=ce2+eb2

100=64+eb2

EB=6cm

Area of triangle= 1/2*EB*CB

: =30CM2

Area of shaded region=area of rectangle -area of triangle

=180-30

150cm2

area of shaded region is 150cm2.
