tn=a+(n-1)d
50=5+(n-1)3
50=5+3n-3
48=3n
n=48/3
n=16

As stated 2/3,k and 5/8 are in A.P.So,they have an equal common difference.
Given,
t1=2/3
t2=k
t3=5/8
Therefore,
t2-t1=t3-t2
=>k-(2/3)=(5/8)-k
=>2k=(5/8)+(2/3)
=>2k=(31/24)
=>k=(31/24*2)=(31/48)

Therefore, value of k is 31/48.
