25. A boat travels 30 km upstream in the same amount of time it takes to travel 60 km
downstream in the same river. If the speed of the river is 4 km/h, find the speed of the
boat in still water.​

speed of current (water) = 4km/hr

speed of Boat = x

upstream = (x-4)30

Downstream = (x+4)60

D = D

(x-4)30 = (x+4)60

30x+120 = 60x-240

120+240 = 60x-30x

360 = 30x

360/30 = x

12 = x

Therefore, the speed of the boat in still water is 12km/h
