I) Electronic Voting is the standard means of conducting elections using Electronic Voting Machines, sometimes called "EVMs" in India. They were introduced in Indian elections between 1998 and 2001, in a phased manner.

ii) In a democratic election, the list of those who are eligible to vote is prepared much before the election and is available to everyone.

This list is officially called the Electoral Roll and is commonly known as the Voters’ List.

iii) The day on which an election is held; polling day.
