Hi ,

It is given that ,

2m( m - 24 ) = 50

m( m - 24 ) = 50/2

m² - 24m = 25

m² - 24m - 25 = 0

Splitting the middle term, we get

m² - 25m + 1m - 25 = 0

m( m - 25 ) + 1( m - 25 ) = 0

( m - 25 )( m + 1 ) = 0

Therefore ,

m -25 = 0 or m + 1 = 0

m = 25 or m = -1

I hope this helps you.

Heya !!

2M ( M - 24 ) = 50

2M² - 48M = 50

2M² - 48M - 50 = 0

2 ( M² - 24M - 25 ) = 0

M² - 24M - 25 = 0

M² - 25M + M - 25 = 0

M ( M - 25 ) + 1 ( M - 25 ) = 0

( M - 25 ) ( M + 1 ) = 0

( M - 25 ) = 0 OR ( M + 1 ) = 0

M = 25 OR M = -1.
