AnswEr :

Given Equation,

 \sf \: 2x {}^{2}  + bx + 9 = 0

  • 1/2 is one of the root of the above equation

To finD : Value of b

Now,

Putting x = 1/2 in the above equation :

 \sf \: 2 \times  { (\dfrac{1}{2} )}^{2}  +  \dfrac{b}{2}  + 9 = 0 \\  \\  \longmapsto \:  \sf \:  \dfrac{b + 1}{2}  =  - 9 \\  \\  \longmapsto \:  \sf \: b + 1 =  - 18 \\  \\  \longmapsto \:  \boxed{ \boxed { \sf b =  - 19}}

For x = ½,the value of b would be - 19

Thus,

The equation would be 2x² - 19x + 9 = 0
