2x + 5/3 = 3x - 10

subtract 2x both sides of the equation

-2x + 2x + 5/3 = -2x + 3x -10

5/3 = x -10

add 10 both sides of the equation

10 + 5/3 = x - 10 + 10

10 / 1 + 5 /3 = x

( 30 + 5 ) / 3 = x

35 / 3 = x

∴ x = 35 / 3
