GIVEN:-

2x+9y-7z ;
3y+z+3x ;
2x-4y-z;

Adding vertically,

2x + 9y - 7z
3x + 3y + z
2x - 4y - z
------------------
7x + 8y - 7z

Now by horizontally,


2x + 9y - 7z + 3x + 3y + z + 2x - 4y - z

(7x + 8y - 7z)


Hence, both answer is same with both of the methods

Let A = 2x + 9y - 7z ,

B = 3x + 3y + z ,

C = 2x - 4y - z ,

Horizontal Method :

A + B + C

= ( 2x+9y-7z)+(3x+3y+z)+(2x-4y-z)

= 2x+3x+2x+9y+3y-4y-7z+z-z

= (2 + 3 + 2 )x + (9+3-4)y+(-7+1-1)z

= 7x + 8y - 7z ----( 1 )

Vertical Method :

A + B + C

= 2x + 9y - 7z
+ 3x + 3y + z
+ 2x - 4y - z
_____________
= 7x + 8x - 7z-------( 2 )
_____________

From ( 1 ) and ( 2 ) , we easily

conclude that ,in both methods

we get same result.
