given algebraic expression are : 4a² + 5b² + 6ab , 3ab , 6a² - 2b² , 4b² - 5ab;

now adding all expressions ;[horizontal method ]

= (4a² + 5b² + 6ab) + 3ab + ( 6a² - 2b² ) + (4b² - 5ab)

= (4a² + 6a² ) + (5b² - 2b² + 4b² ) + (6ab + 3ab - 5ab)

= 10a² + 7b² + 4ab

add all expressions [vertical method ]

4a² + 5b² + 6ab

+ 3ab

+6a² - 2b²

+ 4b² - 5ab

---------------------------------------------------------

10a² + 7b² + 4ab

yeah, we get the same answer with both methods

ii ) Horizontal method :

( 4a² + 5b² + 6ab ) + 3ab + ( 6a² - 2b² )

+ ( 4b² - 5ab )

= 4a² + 6a² + 5b² - 2b² + 4b² + 6ab + 3ab - 5ab

= ( 4 + 6 )a² + ( 5 - 2 + 4 )b² + ( 6 + 3 - 5 )ab

= 10a² + 7b² + 4ab ---( 2 )

( 1 ) = ( 2 )

From both methods ,

We get same answer.
