Ans(1): So with the passage of time the mother grew from child to teen to adult to final death. Hence, men is mortal. The poem highlights different phases of the mother's life. Earlier it was her childhood when she went to beach holiday.

Ans(2): One of the attitudes that she holds about het mother's death is that it is not the end of life. Instead, she holds the belief that death is the beginning of new life in eternity.
