In this case, only the parasite is at the advantage. The host, maybe not. Symbionts are organisms that live together for mutual benefit.

E.g. lichens.

Lichens are symbionts consisting of a fungus and an algae that cooperate with each other to meet their food requirements. The fungus provides minerals and water to the alga. The alga supplies the fungus with food that it manufactures.
