Step-by-step explanation:

Let the length of the rectangle be x and breadth of a rectangle be y respectively.

According to the first condition,

x = 2y - 16

x - 2y = -16 .... (i)

According to the second condition,

2(x + y) = 112

x + y = 112

2

x + y = 56 .... (ii)

Subtracting equation i and ii,

x - 2y = -16

- x + y = 56

-3y = -72

y = -72

-3

y = 24

Substituting value of y in equation ii,

x + y = 56

x + 24 = 56

x = 56 - 24

x = 32

Length of a rectangle = 32 m

Breadth of a rectangle = 24 m
