Answer:

Length of the semicircular tunnel = 2km. ∴l=2000 mm

Diameter of the semicircular tunnel = 7mm

∴ Radius of tunnel = 7/2 ∴r = 3.5 mm

Volume of semicircular tunnel = 1/2× Volume of circular tunnel

= 1/2×πr² l

= 1/2×22/7× 3.5×3.5×2000

= 11×0.5×3.5×2000

= 38500 m³

∴ Expenditure for digging (semicircular) the tunnel at the rate Rs. 600600 per m²

= 38,500×600

= Rs. 2,31,00,000

∴ Expenditure for plastering inner side of the tunnel at the rate of Rs. 5050 per m²

= 22000×5

= Rs. 11,00,000
